My issue with scale wasn’t something I felt too concerned about. Until I noticed these pages from my Arran sketchbook had something different, dramatic, exciting about them. Created by a contrast in scale - between boat and mountain, or mountain and homes.
The Foundation Skill - Observing Relationships
First let’s touch on the kind of observation we will need to practice to tackle this issue. We practice this skill every time we draw from observation, so we really can’t practice this too much! For some beginners practicing this skill might feel enough.
